Heart Surgery is a free Christian self-reflection journal created for believers walking through seasons when God seems to be exposing, correcting, healing, and refining areas of our hearts.

this journal serves as an invitation to slow down, examine our hearts honestly, search the Scriptures, and allow the Lord to show us what may need to change.

If you're going through a difficult season and asking, "Lord, what are You trying to show me through this?", Heart Surgery was created for those with this exact thought.

Difficult Seasons

​

Some of our greatest spiritual lessons don't come during comfortable seasons.

They come when our plans and/or relationships change. They come when we're afraid of what may happen in the future. They come when we feel alone or rejected by people. They come when we lose everything. they come when we're desperately searching for an answer on what to do. They come when we lose everything.

​

And sometimes the circumstances surrounding us reveal something happening within us.

Heart Surgery was born out of my own season of isolation, uncertainty, loss, spiritual examination, and learning to trust God differently than I had before.

​

During that season, I began recognizing areas of my own heart that needed attention. Some things looked like ordinary fear, worry, distraction, or just coping. However, with much self-examination through Scripture and much uninterrupted time spent with the Lord, many deeper issues within my heart were revealed to me.

​

That process became the foundation for this journal.

​

Rather than simply asking, "How do I get out of this season?", Heart Surgery encourages another question:

"Lord, what do You want to change in me while I'm in this?"

What's Inside the Heart Surgery Journal?

 

Heart Surgery combines personal reflection, biblical encouragement, Scripture, and journaling prompts to help you examine different areas of your heart.

The journal explores three major areas:

Faithlessness

Faithlessness doesn't always look like denying God.

Sometimes we believe in Him while still struggling to trust Him with what happens next.

​

This section explores areas including:

​

Distraction
Recognizing the things that continually pull your attention away from what God has placed before you.

​

Worries of This World
Examining the fears and everyday concerns that can begin distracting us from the One who really matters.

 

Fear of the Unknown
Learning to confront anxiety about circumstances, opinions, outcomes, and situations you cannot see or control.

 

Self-Preservation
Recognizing when trusting God has quietly been replaced by constantly trying to rescue, protect, or provide for yourself through your own strength.

 

Idolatry

Idolatry isn't limited to worshiping a physical object.

Anything we continually run to for security, comfort, identity, satisfaction, or relief can begin occupying a place in our hearts that belongs to God.

Unhealthy Coping Mechanisms
Examining the temporary comforts we reach for when we're hurting, overwhelmed, bored, afraid, or uncertain.

​

Worldly Pleasures
Considering the difference between enjoying God's blessings and depending upon earthly things to give us the peace only He can provide.

​

Codependency
Examining whether another person's presence, approval, guidance, or acceptance has become responsible for carrying something that should ultimately rest in God.

 

Feeling Unloved

Feeling unloved and being unloved aren't necessarily the same thing.

Seasons of loneliness, rejection, separation, or loss can make us question whether we're seen, valued, or cared for, even by God.

Conquering the Victim Mindset
Learning to acknowledge what happened without allowing painful experiences to become your entire identity.

 

Loneliness
Examining what seasons of isolation can reveal and learning to recognize God's presence when human companionship feels limited.

​

How God Feels About His Children
Remembering that His love isn't merely something believers are waiting to experience someday. He is our Savior, Provider, Protector, Teacher, and Friend now.

More Than a Bible Journal for Healing

 

Heart Surgery isn't intended to replace prayer, Scripture, biblical counsel, or your personal relationship with the Lord.

And the journal itself can't transform your heart. Only God does that.

​

This journal is only a resource designed to encourage you to bring your heart before Him honestly.

​

Throughout Heart Surgery, you'll be encouraged to be still, reflect, write, remember what the Lord has already done, examine your responses to difficult circumstances, and continually return to Scripture. All that's needed is a sincere willingness to examine your heart and bring everything to God.

Who Is Heart Surgery For?

This faith-based healing journal may be especially helpful if you are:

• Walking through a difficult or unexpected season

• Struggling with fear about the future

• Learning to trust God during uncertainty

• Recognizing unhealthy attachments or coping mechanisms

You don't have to be experiencing a crisis to use Heart Surgery, either.

Self-examination should remain part of the Christian walk.

As Psalm 139:23–24 (KJV) says:

"Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."

​

That prayer captures the heart behind this journal.
